Topo Photo, Inc. is advancing the metrics for calibrating airborne optical camera systems. Founded by Dr. (Colonel) Dean C. Merchant who is internationally recognized as the subject matter expert in aerial camera calibration and photogrammetry.

Since 1987, Topo Photo, Inc. continues to strive for improvement of accurate, reliable, and consistent calibration of airborne photogrammetric camera systems in accordance with American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote sensing (ASPRS) " Guidelines for the Geodetic Calibration of Optical Aerial Camera Systems."
Topo Photo, Inc. offers services for in situ calibrations of the aerial camera system leading to improved practical applications. Calibration is necessary to determine and correct for the systematic errors inherent in the airborne photo system.

Currently underway is the development of calibration for UAS aerial systems to achieve high geospatial accuracies at low altitudes.
